颈椎管狭窄是颈椎管各个方向径线减小，或者说容积减小。颈椎管狭窄可减少脊髓和神经的有效空间和血供，引起功能障碍。因此颈椎管狭窄症，是引起椎管狭窄脊髓压迫的各种疾病的统称，不是单一特定的疾病。

　　症状还包括大小便不能控制、平衡或协调能力障碍，以及行走不稳、拖行步态或走路时容易绊倒。
